Southern Districts Veteran & Ladies Cycling Club was formed in 1980 and has about 150 active members.    The club also has a good "social" aspect and many people are there to encourage those who are wishing to start racing in their older years.
It caters for the older cyclists who still enjoy some competition.    In all races, riders are categorised and placed with others of similar ability, so you always have an opportunity to win.
The club is affiliated with the Australian Veteran Cycling Council (AVCC) and race under those rules. Men must be 35 years or older and women 30 years or older in the calendar year. ie: you turn 35 in June, then you can start racing as of 1 January the same year.
