Thanks to all those that stayed back for the SA Ambulance Service presentation on CPR on April 29th. Some strong points came through:
- In Australia, we have a 1 in 5 chance of survival if we suffer a cardiac arrest outside of a medical centre. We can do better.
- Every minute CPR is delayed, reduces the chance of recovery by 10%, hence 10minutes and the chances are slim.
- With CPR – anything is better than nothing.
- If a defibrillator is available, put it to use straight away. It is foolproof.
